The main field of gastronenterology, a sub - specialism of internal medicine, involves dysfunctions (flatulence, constipation, reflux, gastritis ete.) and diseases of whole digestive system from oral cavity to anus (esophagus, stomach, intestine and colon), hepatic (chronic hepatitis ete.) and pancreatic diseases and various conditions of bite duets.

All endoscopic procedures (including ERCP) in diseases of digestive system requiring diagnosis and treatment and liver biopsyare performed by gastroenterologists using cutting edge equipment and tools in Medistate Hospital Istanbul.

Such services are referred inpatient services when the patient is hospitalized or as out-patient endoscopic services at outpatient settings.
